Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day! Yeah okay...
Wow! I can't believe lover's day is already upon us. Personally, I think Valentine's Day commercialism is highly overrated! No, I'm not hating or upset because I don't have a man-- because actually I do . It's just that the older I get, the more my eyes have opened up to the reality of my surroundings. Why do we let society dictate to us when, where, and how we should celebrate our love with our significant others? When you're with the right person, Valentine's is not just a single day; it's every day that you spend with that person!
Men/women buy into the hype of having to get their loved one flowers that will die, candy that may go to the hips, or a piece of jewelry that is often overpriced and loses it's value as soon as you wrap it up in the box! All of this to show how much they care....I think not!
So many people go out and purchase gifted items that meant nothing to them the day before Valentine's Day and will mean nothing to them the day after-lol! What is really needed for Valentine's Day (every day for that matter) cannot be given by a man or woman! Unconditional love and pure forgiveness for our mishaps and wrongdoings! Simply put-God's love. At any rate, for those who enjoy the commercialism of Valentine's Day -may you enjoy your 24 hours.

A couple of my friends have been walking around looking depressed all week because they're single and won't get to celebrate. I told them to buy themselves some chocolate and get over it lol.

Sometimes I feel like something must be wrong with me because I don't get all worked up about Valentine's, regardless of whether I'm in a relationship or not. Anyways, you and your SLs look beautiful, as always. Take care!

Your locs are Fab on you. I do like Valentine's Day myself just because it is a couples day and a day to be loving and happy for no right reason mate or not :-). Besides any day that a man will give you a gift just because a day says they should, why not. Everyday other day is good to.
Nice picture.

Girl your hair is slammin! I agree, My husband and I do not celebrate it either. Such a waste of money. My husband gives me a gift everyday when he makes my lunch for work. :-)

Dear Anonymous,

I still travel to Dallas to get my hair retightened. I initially corresponded with Greg because Austin is closer, and I did not get the feeling that he truly wanted to do my hair. Thus, I contacted Ms. Elaine and was very pleased with the information she provided and the interest she personally took in my hair.

Washing your hair twice a week will only accomplish stripping your scalp of its natural oils, and thus, further damaging your hair. Deciding on whether or not to do the big chop is a personal choice at best. I would have been frustrated with two different hair textures. Additionally, I thought that sisterlocks looked much better with all natural hair. Keep in mind that relaxed hair will not lock, and there is a greater possibility that your hair will slip out of the lock. Technically, your hair is not locked when you first get it done. The locking process takes time, and in some cases, years before your entire head full of hair is locked.

If it were me, I’d at least make sure you had 4 inches of new growth before deciding to SL. If chopping your hair off is not an option, you could always do alternative styles until it grows out (e.g., twists).

Monica,

Yeah, Valentine's Day is over done, like most holidays. I preach that all the time, don't wait for a holiday to express your love to your loved ones. Loving your hair as always. What color are you currently wearing ?
